The commitment of the Board, leadership team, and volunteers at Church Builders Bible Training Center is at the heart of what makes us a living, thriving spiritual community. They are dedicated to serving the community spiritually and practically, strengthening people’s lives and families.
This team is passionate and equipped with decades of experience to offer time and resources to engage, equip, and empower the next generation of disciples of Jesus Christ. In other words, we take off the ministry mask and share our successes and failures with you to help you to fulfill your life assignment, starting on our shoulders instead of the floor. It doesn't stop there. We have an entire network of ministries partnering for one purpose--engaging, equipping, and empowering you.

Asja Jackson, Esq.

Asja serves on the Board of Directors in the area of communication and events.She works as a Policy Advisor for the Michigan Legislature and started her career practicing law in 2022. Asja has a heart and passion for justice and equity for all people.

Isaiah Jackson
TECHNOLOGY COORDINATOR

Isaiah is a senior at Aquinas College studying Computer Science and is one of their top student athletes. Isaiah uses his knowledge and tenacity to encourage small businesses by building websites and educating them on effective technology and cyber security.

Marcus Jackson
TREASURER
Marcus serves on the Board of Directors as Treasurer. He is the Economic Development Officer for one of Michigan’s largest banking institutions and is pursuing his Masters in Business Administration. His passion is to positively impact people and communities and leave them better off than they were before he served them.

MaRia Thompson
MINISTRY ADVISOR
MaRia Thompson worked in various levels of children’s ministry for decades. Now she works in administration, strategic planning, travels to minister and still assists with children’s ministry at her home church. MaRia disciples many young Christians and is a strong encourager in the body of Christ based in Grand Rapids, MI.

“So keep up your courage…for I have complete confidence in God that it will be exactly as it was told to me…” Acts 27:25, Amplified Bible MaryAnn serves on the Board of Directors and has been a trailblazer in the kingdom of God for many years. She has developed children’s ministries, education ministries, and discipleship ministries training both layman and licensed ministers.

Michelle Jackson
PRESIDENT
Michelle is the Lead Elder of Church Builders Bible Training Center. She has served in ministry since 1992 and was ordained in 2012. She has led worship, administration, teaching, and discipleship teams. Michelle is a chaplain coach in the greater Grand Rapids, MI area. Michelle and Steve have been married for nearly 25 years and have five wonderful children and two delightful granddaughters.

Steve Jackson
DIRECTOR
Steve serves on the Board of Directors in team building and strategic planning. He had a successful career as a General Manager in the retail industry for over 30 years, managing 90+ people. Currently, Steve is establishing the Cure Violence program for the Urban League of West Michigan. Steve believesinvesting in people both spiritually and practically to help them grow and reach their potential.
